January Blues?

It’s been a bit quiet since the new year. It’s dark here in Scotland, real dark. I’ve not been doing to much photography lately, been busy at work with 8 websites to make before March, and trying to get my main site Goat Karma put into tumblr but that’s all forgotten now as we’re off to Paris tomorrow..yay!

For the trip I’ve been stockpiling film in my fridge somehow, a mate gave me 2 boxes of expired Portra 400, plus I’ve got all kinds of b&w C41 film and loads of colour too, even some slide (which I have no recollection of buying!). I doubt I can go through 33 rolls of film in 6 days, but I’m going to try!

Think this will be my first holiday where I go ‘film only’. No digital camera at all, Just film all the way. Decided to take the holga, the lubitel, and….

I picked up a freakin sweet Praktica Super TL1000 from the chairty shop for £5 along with 3 lenses, loads of filters, and cleaning equipment. Will be taking that too, along with just the 50mm lense. I’m not a massive fan of 35mm, or even non-square photos(although I think that’s due to just looking at 6×6 for too long!), but it will be interesting, although I only have Tesco value film for it, so that will have to suffice. I have to say though, there is something nice about holding a incredibly heavy camera up to your face and twisting a nice focussing knob! I think for my birthday I’m going ask/beg Beth for a Bronica SQ-A. All the heavy feature-rich goodness of a Film SLR, but with added 6×6 120 squareness.

Will Post up in a week or so once I have the Paris photos developed.
