It’s that time of year again! It’s World Pinhole day on the 26th April.
Once a year the fantastic people at http://www.pinholeday.org/ organise WPD. A day to celebrate, learn, and use pinhole cameras. If you check out their events page you will see there are many events be held around the world, ranging from exhibitions to classes on how to make pinholes.
Also check out Claire’s tutorial on DIY pinhole, and the massive holga list for some ready-made holga pinhole cameras.
Here at holgablog we like lists, so we thought we would celebrate WPD2009 with another storming list, but this time we may have gone a bit far…it’s ‘the best pinhole photos in the world……ever ‘(or something). And not really in the world…just flickr. The sentiment is there anyway!
Special meintion has to go to the flickr users Zeb Andrews, manyfires and integrity_of_light who could easily have populated this list between themselves many times over. Their images kept on being chosen for this list, but we have limited it to one each.

Worlds other than these... , 240 seconds by Zeb Andrews (editors note: Zeb Andrews could have 50 photos in this list alone!)

National Cathedral Nave - a 4x5 Pinhole Photograph by integrity_of_light(editors note: intergrity of light could have 50 photos in this list alone!)

the being a force a nature by manyfires (editors note: manyfires could have 50 photos in this list alone!).

[...] World Pinhole Camera Day April 26 Posted on April 17, 2009 by Peter West Here’s a link that’s going to make you sick if you just bought an expensive DSLR camera. As I tell all my students at Henry’s School of Imaging that it’s not the camera that takes the photo, it’s the photographer. Case in point, are these wonderful photos taken with pinhole cameras. Yes that most humble of all cameras, the pinhole, is capable of great photography. Here’s the link. [...]

Great stuff! Thanks for including my tree image among these fantastic shots. And thank you for promoting pinhole photography.
Thank you for including my ‘pink flamingo’ pinhole photograph.
Great list of photographers! I’m going to make sure I’m flickr friends with all of them!
[...] Great news! My pinhole image ‘Pink Flamingo’ was chosen as one of the best pinhole images ever! Check out the 14 images here. [...]
A nice selection, but his shot would have to be at the #1 slot, IMHO:
