‘Roid Week 2009 is upon us

It seems Holgablog is floating from one themed week to the next at the moment, with International Commie Camera Day on Friday being followed up this week with ‘Roid week 2009.

Here’s the lowdown from flickr:

Here are the simple rules:

* It’s five days. Monday thru Friday.

* Pool opens at 6:00 am on Monday, Eastern Standard Time.

* Pool closes at 12:00 am on Friday (technically, Saturday), Pacific Standard Time.

* Members can post up to 3 photos a day.

* Though we call it “Polaroid Week,” any instant film is fine.

* No Poladroids! You have your own group to play in. This is a film only group.

* Post photos you haven’t posted on Flickr before. Give us something new. We will unceremoniously delete all photos that do not meet this requirement.

* And give us something good. This is our seasonal eye candy. Make it sweet.

Sounds great!  It’s time to rip open the last of the film, and put it to good use.  You can find the Polaroid Week Flickr pool here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/polaroidweek2009/

As for Holgablog, well, we are hoping to bring you some polaroid themed articles this week, including a look at some of the best ways polaroids have been displayed, a look at the famous ‘polaroid house’ in California, and a host of other interesting stuff!

A big thankyou to Steph Parke for her amazing photo of the polaroids you see as our banner this week.  Steph’s photographs are all fantastic, and you can check them out here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephparke/ .  Steph is also supervising editor for light leaks magazine, which is worth subscribing right away :-)
