Commie Camera: And the winner is…..

winner

Thanks for everyone who entered the competition to win a commie camera.  We were genuinely humbled by the response we got.

We felt a bit sorry for the Vilia, nobody really wanted it apart from a few, so it looks like it will be staying in my cupboard for a bit longer!

The judging process was a long and arduous affair, with many cups of coffee consumed, but we have our winner:

Zenit-E. I want to teach my daughter photography the way I learned photography … full-manual, mechanical, film and a lot of trial & error. My problem is that I no longer have any cameras that are only mechanical and full manual. Winning the Zenit-E would allow me to pass on the great tradition of film photography with classic equipment. It would allow her to learn to see the world instead of just gobbling it up to the next bigger memory card. Make a little girl’s day … let her have a Zenit-E!

Well done Dante, we will contact you shortly about your prize!  I really hope you don’t live in Australia!!

Thanks again everyone for your entries, we hope you enjoyed Commie Camera Day as much as we all did!  We laughed a whole lot at your entries, and even scratched our head at some (Why does ‘Yury’ have ‘Steve’ in his email address!!).

And remember, we have an even better competition running at the moment:

You have a chance to win ANY holga camera you want!

Holga Wide and Tele Lens test shots

Here are a few test shots I took in my back yard a couple of weeks ago using the new Holga Wide and Tele lenses.  For comparison, I stood in the same spot and took them all from the same angle (as best I could!).
I will keep trying out the lenses in some more different [...]

Review: Holga 120 WPC

I was originally going to start this review of the 120 WPC off quite technically – what the WPC stood for, what features it had, what the f-stop was. That kind of thing. Then I realised I’d been sucked into what I actually try to avoid in photography: geekspeak. So while some of the specifics [...]
