Competition: Win one of two SMENA/COSMIC Symbols

Another holgablog competition is upon us! It’s summertime, we are feeling generous so we are giving you the chance to win one of two near MINT Smena/Cosmic Symbol cameras, along with faux leather cases.    We have written about the Symbol before, and we loved it!  Paired with cheap film, the colours and tones it produces are lovely. Don’t miss your chance to get your mitts on one.

We have been debating about the format for the competition, and have decided on a simple themed photo submission.

A Flickr group pool has been created here :

All you have to do is join the group and add one photo from your flickr account into the pool.  The theme of the competition is ‘summer‘ , so your photo has to tie in with the theme, but to be honest it’s quite a broad theme anyway, and abstract entries will be welcome!  The only rule for entry is that your photo needs to be taken with a film camera.

Be careful adding your photo as you are only allowed one entry.  Once the deadline for the competition has passed (1st September), we will choose the best two photos and flickrmail the winners.

As this is a flickr-grouped competition, you will need a flickr account, but worry not, it’s free to sign up for a standard account.

Alternatively, if you think Flickr is evil, just leave a link to your photograph as a comment and we’ll include the image in the judging process.

The smallprint

Actually, there’s not much smallprint at all.  You retain all rights to your submitted photograph, but by entering the competition you allow us to post your photo on holgablog (linking back through to your flickr photo page).  That’s it!   Anyone around the world can enter the competition and the prizes will be posted by the end of September at the latest.

    Hi Amanda,

    We will send a Flickrmail to the winners if they have added their photo to the pool. Alternatively, if they have left a link here to their photo, we will send them an email to the address they used for the comment.

    It will be announced here on the website, on flickr, and on twiter. Hopefully in around a week once all the writers have voted for their favourites.
