It's actually a visually complex picture but all the elements are needed to convey the mood, I think - the boardwalk and the background to the right establish the setting, the crowd and the adult to the left give us assurance - minus any of these and the shot would look creepy! The low POV mimics the child's POV, and the child's posture tells us how she must be feeling. Hey Little Girl is my favourite of the lot.
