A Holga-style Digital Camera?

Everyone knows about Superhedz Harinezumi lo-fi digital camera, but what else is out there?

How about this:

The Yashica EZ F521.  Housed in a case similar to an old Yashica Electro 35, the F521 is a 5.0 megapixel digital camera!!  The lens is “Fixed-focus lens / glass layer 1 layer of plastic +3 F3.0, f=7.0mm(35mmカメラ換算42.53mm) F3.0, f = 7.0mm”, and it has 32MB of onboard memory, expandable by SDHC to 8GB.

It certainly looks pretty stylish, but we doubt that the plastic lens will amount to anything like a holga image. Many cameras use plastic lenses as a cost-saving measure, and they still produce quality photographs without any of the ‘quirks’ of a holga.  So for now, it may be interesting once reviews come in, but don’t jump out and buy one (even for $85), as we’re not sure if it will not just be a standard digital camera in a pretty case.

I think somewhere along the line people thought the lens looked awfully similar to the holga lens, plus it’s kinda plastic. As outlined above, I seriously don’t think it’s anything more than a standard crappy digital camera in a nice shell.

It is very indeed plastic. Anyone seen some test shots over the net? I think it can be a holga-style cam due to it’s simplistic and plastic build. And then there’s exposure compensation of -2 to +2 EV. Cool :-)

Finally a digital camera I might actually be interested in buying. They’ve got the price right, and the looks, but it all comes down to what the images look like. Look forward to some reviews.

i own this camera and it’s a holga style due to the plastic body, 5 Mpixels and simple controls in its way of work.

A nice one of course :-)
