Welcome our new sponsor…Photoworks SF (and an exclusive offer!)

We always thought we had a missing sponsor in Holgablog: we had a camera manufacturer in Holga Inspire ,a seller of camera equipment, film, and accessories in Freestyle Photo, but we didn’t have a sponsor to complete the photo cycle of developing and printing.  But fear not! We welcome Photoworks SF on board as another site sponsor.

Here’s a bit about them:

Photoworks SF is a Photo Lab In San Francisco, Ca.  We’ve been around 20 years and have survived many changes in our industry. We develop and print film, and we make prints from digital files. We try to take quality photographs and appreciate other people who do the same.  At this point we offer every service imaginable as we’re trying to keep up with all the changes in tech.  It’s tough to stay current, but one thing is for sure:  We will not abandon our roots…FILM

I’m not turning away from digital, that would be stupid, I’m just here to say that we love film and everyone who shoots with it.  For more on all we’e into:  www.photoworkssf.com

Hopefully Holgablog and Photoworks can bring you some exciting competitions, offers, and news, in the future.

But for now, we have an exclusive offer! With every order you send in for development, Photoworks will offer you a free film if you mention holgablog!  Just mention HOLGABLOG FREE FILM somewhere on your order form, and a film will magically appear along with your negatives once mailed back to you.  Cool or what!?!

I like to use these guys to develpoe my portraits.

Currently I am in afghanistan working on secret projects to ride the world of evil.

In my spare time I take picyures of the young men I see, as I have done on my previous contracts in Kwajalein and Kuwait.

Please visit my photostreem in flickr, where I am using the name of Island life.

Fun in the Sun-Printing

Some time late last year (OK, Christmas), I got a present called “Sun-Print Paper”. This stuff is basically sold as a “toy” to parents who probably want their kids to get off their console, get out the house, and take in some Sunshine or else.

How to make Cog-Pano’s on your Holga

First things first. The image above was shot on my Holga, and I only manipulated digitally by way of turning it black & white and adding my copyright symbol. Otherwise, this is shown exactly as it was shot, with the image stretching its way across the film plain in a nice wide panoramic and covering [...]
