Another new Holga: The Holga Half Frame (Holga 135TIM)

Information is sparse at the moment, but hot off the press news, a new Holga: the 135TIM !  It’s a Holga half frame camera, but with two lenses by the looks of things, so you can choose to shoot with one lens, or both by switching the switches above the lenses. It has a working aperture selector at the front (the smiley face), and a matching colourflash!  The one above looks very spongebob-esque! It’s available in other colours including a very fetching white:

It’s also available in black and red (black, white, red, yellow).

Here’s a wee bit of information from a Hong Kong wholesaler:

More information when we get it!!

I got the news from my dearest Holga-Shop: XinHai(ebay)
The camera will come in a few days…
I fall in love with it, at the first second I saw it. :)
PS: If anyone wants a DIANAmini, let me know. I’m gonna sale mine for this..

Sorry, it doesn’t do much for me. I just don’t get half frame cameras….I don’t want half a frame I want a whole one.
Maybe I’m just an old stick in the mud but all this new fangled technology just confuses me.

Same here, Charles. I have enough trouble filling up a whole roll of 36 exp let alone 72. Enlarging a half frame in the enlarger doesn’t really do it for me either.

Half frame cameras have an interesting and long history. The Olympus Pen came out in 1959, I’m not sure if it’s the oldest but I’m sure it was the most produced. They’re great for Dyptych photography. This think looks a little kooky to me, but it does look like loads of fun too.

Argh, want one, but just spent all my money on a D90. Will me DSLR lenses fit this?

Holga Wide and Tele Lens test shots

Here are a few test shots I took in my back yard a couple of weeks ago using the new Holga Wide and Tele lenses.  For comparison, I stood in the same spot and took them all from the same angle (as best I could!).
I will keep trying out the lenses in some more different [...]

Review: Holga 120 WPC

I was originally going to start this review of the 120 WPC off quite technically – what the WPC stood for, what features it had, what the f-stop was. That kind of thing. Then I realised I’d been sucked into what I actually try to avoid in photography: geekspeak. So while some of the specifics [...]
