Tips for Outdoor Portrait Photography

I love being a photographer because I get to see so many cool places and get to meet a lot of new interesting people too. Just recently I travelled to France to take some outdoor portraits of some people for their wedding photos. The photo shoot took place in this beautiful garden that was filled with arbors, carports, and pergolas. Sure, taking outdoor portraits in front of these things did pose some challenges but it wasn’t impossible.

I like challenges and I especially like taking pictures of people in front or around pergolas because they are really beautiful and provide for a great backdrop. On a side note if you aren’t quite sure what a pergola, arbor, or carport is then you should take a quick glance the article “The Ultimate Guide on Pergolas” from The Garden Issue, they will explain it all perfectly.

All of that being said there are a few challenges that come along with outdoor portrait photography, but they aren’t anything that can’t be solved using a few simple tricks. Keep reading and find out how to take the perfect portraits of people when you’re outside and surrounded by a beautiful garden full of pergolas and arbors. Read more

Photography & Electronic Pest Repellers

I love to work in photography because I get to meet a lot of cool people, see some really neat things, and get shots that I had never though were possible to make. What I don’t like however is have pests like mosquitos, flies, and bees around when I am doing a professional photo shoot. Bugs get in the way of getting that perfect shot and they also make it really hard for the subjects and me to concentrate on the job at hand.

I decided that bug spray wasn’t the right way to go so I opted for an electronic pest repeller and I chose to buy it from They work by emitting ultrasonic sound that keeps sensitive bugs away; it works really well! I can tell you that I haven’t been happier with a pest repeller than with my new electronic one, especially for my photo shoots. Let’s get into some of the benefits of having one of these electronic pest repellants. Read more

How To Shoot a Removals Firm

I do a lot of photography for various different people and firms, not because it’s a job but because I love to do it. I recently moved to the Bournemouth area and I am very pleased with the new house that I live in. The moving and removals company that I used was great, and moreover they actually made very good use of photography in terms of their marketing and for their website. They had some really great pictures of their equipment, their employees, and most important of all, their happy customers.

Something that I have noticed however is that the removals firm I used was one of the only ones on the internet that actually made good use of photography in terms of their marketing strategy and most other removals firms did not do so well.

Most other removal services in Bournemouth do not feature inspiring or even convincing pictures on their websites and that is a big problem when it comes to getting new customers. Here we have some really great tips that any removals firm and photographers can use to make the moving company look more attractive to potential customers. Read more

How to Photograph Fire Performers

One of the best entertainment ideas I have ever seen for a wedding is fire juggling by Juggling Inferno. Hiring the team of creative performers from the Juggling Inferno as a wedding entertainment idea is something that I would definitely not mind having for my own wedding.

It was so fantastic to be there, even just as the photographer because fire juggling is something that I love to see. The performers and their fire juggling as well as fire breathing made for a really cool night time entertainment piece.

After a long day of wedding ceremonies and after a few alcoholic beverages the fire juggling made for a spectacular show that all of the guests including the bride and groom really loved; it’s dangerous, it’s exciting, and people just couldn’t keep their eyes off of the fie being juggled through the air.

From a photographer’s stand point it was really neat, but at the same time there are some challenges when it comes to shooting this kind of thing. Here we have some tips on how to get the best shots possible when photographing something like fire juggling. Read more
